In the 13:45 at Carlisle, trainer Karl Burke has a 24% strike rate with two-year-olds at this venue and saddles Mizz Brazen 1.910/11.
In the 14:45 at Carlisle, three-year-olds have won four of the last six runnings. There is only one three-year-old in Division One today Monsieur Kodi 9.08/1. In Division two 15:15, three-year-olds have won four of the last five runnings, and there's just one entered today, Sweet Aroma 8.07/1.
Trainer Clive Cox has a 17% strike rate with horses running in handicaps over six furlongs at Nottingham. Today he saddles Applaud Now 5.59/2 in the 17:50.
In the 20:20 at Nottingham, George Barncroft 3.55/2 is one of the day's most interesting runners. He represents a trainer who rarely has a runner on the flat (this is his only one in the last five years) and did win back-to-back handicaps when last seen in this sphere.
At Windsor in the 19:10, trainer David Simcock has booked jockey Silvestre De Sousa for the ride on Fox Power 5.59/2. Together the pair has a 24% strike rate when teaming up.
Trainer William Haggas has just one runner today. He saddles Tathbeet 2.111/10 in the 19:40 at Windsor and will look to enhance his 22% strike rate with three-year-olds at this venue.

Race of the day
Today's feature race is Windsor's 18:40, where a field of nine head to post for a tricky punting heat.
Kit Gabriel matched his best two-year-old form with his seasonal reappearance fifth, and should he build on that effort today; he shouldn't be far away. The re-application of the cheek-pieces for today's second start after a break is a positive, and he is open to further improvement, so he has valid claims if taking a step forward in this deeper race.
Solid player.
Cairn Gorm makes his seasonal return for new connections and sports a first-time tongue-tie. Still, he arrives with plenty to prove at the top of the market, but someone thinks catching him fresh may be the angle. His progression stalled last term but, as a result, has fallen in the handicap. He is interesting but would be more of a watching brief than a bet.
The Organiser represents a trainer with an 18% strike rate with handicap debutants, and this three-year-old is in receipt of eight pounds from his older rivals. Today's race represents a drop in class after contesting Listed company at Newbury on return and on the back of a gelding operation. There's good reason to think he can improve on his latest effort, and the drop into calmer waters could be just what he needs.
Big race verdict
This is a tricky contest. Kit Gabriel and The Organiser could be the pair to focus on. The latter makes more appeal at appealing double-figure odds on this drop in grade, and the suspicion is that we haven't seen the best of him yet. He shaped with a good deal of promise last term in some highly competitive events and should strip fitter for his latest outing.

Applaud Now to shed Maiden tag at Notts
A slight ease in grade in the 17:50 at Nottingham for Applaud Now 5.59/2 could just be the ticket to see him finally shed his Maiden tag.
He took a good step in the right direction when dropped back to six furlongs at Windsor last time and pulled clear with a fellow improver despite being keen in the early part of the race. He had been too free to see out seven furlongs previously but shaped with promise and surely has a future over this distance after showing a bright turn of foot 21 days ago.
A sound surface and this six-furlong trip could prove to be the ideal combination to see him get off the mark.
Final Word
Back in the saddle this week after a break! A huge thank you to Al Dudman for taking over the column last week!
Let me tell you, heading off on a stag do to Ibiza at the age of 34 still sounds as good as they do when you're 20, but the repercussions are on a different level. With a cloud of fog hovering over your head, one ear still not popped back from the flight and some strange thing going on at the back of my throat four days later, it's safe to say it will probably be the last! Al Dudman is lucky he didn't get a last-minute call this morning!
Royal Ascot is on from tomorrow, and it's a meeting we will be fully focusing on as no one cares about Stratford and Brighton - yes, I know, an 8/1 winner at Brighton is as good as an 8/1 winner at Royal Ascot...except it's not.
Until tomorrow, be lucky.
