Light rain is forecast for Carlisle and the rearranged card which was Haydock's loss is hopefully our gain here, and Opportunity has a good spot in terms of his draw on the inside to be a player.
The price tells us that anyway, and he's the shortest of the quartet for Saturday at 7/42.75 and from his Novice success last year at Haydock whence he beat this season's Yorkshire Cup winner Rahiebb, he has to be well treated from 92 for this.
He was deemed good enough for Royal Ascot last term but flopped when finishing last in the King Edward VII and he pulled far too hard before being tailed and wasn't seen afterwards.
You have to be encouraged with the way Opportunity shaped on his comeback for the season last time, again at Ascot when third and was given a fair bit to do from off the pace and ran on well.
I wouldn't be surprised to see him over a little further this term, and he does hold an interesting entry in the Northumberland Plate, so with that in mind, the stiffer finish at Carlisle might suit him better.

I fancied Washington Heights for this race at Haydock on the antepost front, and while Carlisle presents a different sort of challenge, at 4/15.00 I am happy to take the risk on a talented sprinter who always travels well.
This is a drop in class for Washington Heights, as he ran in the Group 3 Palace House at Newmarket last time, and the start before was thrashed in the Group 3 Abernant.
Both of those at HQ were draw races and drawn in six here, he has the option to lie up early, and he did make all from the front to win the City Of Walls at York last term, and good ground or firm suits well.
In fact genuine good might just be the perfect set-up, while his trainer Kevin Ryan holds a near 17% strike-rate at Carlisle in the last five seasons and heads into the weekend 5-30 in the last fortnight at 17%.

The draw gods have looked down favourably upon Elements Of Fire - who has been handed stall one. For a horse who likes to lead and can burst out quickly, we should have no hard luck here from a prime spot.
He'll be happier over 7f here at the sharp Chester; as he raced over 6f last time at Ascot, and maybe a sighter at that venue as he holds an entry for the Wokingham at the Royal meeting. However, on that recent performance he'd have no chance at Royal Ascot as it was a nothing sort of run and got into a right mess at the end of the race.
Prior to that, he'd been progressive on the All-Weather and scored from 89 from the front at Wolverhampton (say yes to sharp and left-handed tracks) and put away some good horses there including Willem Twee and impressive Newcastle winner Recency Bias.
He is the biggest price of the quartet at 11/26.50, but worth the punt as a front-runner back at his best trip and with a great draw.

William Haggas is often called the best 'target trainer' around, an exemplar of plotting the right race from a good mark, and Princling looks off a rating he can do some damage from at 87 for a handicap debut.
A small little win came at Wetherby, a track which never has a good race, and it was no more than a prep at odds of 1/4.
He didn't race in totally tractable fashion that day in Yorkshire, like a typical Frankel, he was headstrong and eager to race on with Tom Marquand trying to keep a lid on the exuberance, but when asked for an effort under pressure, he responded well and ran a pretty startling penultimate furlong at 10.85 seconds, by some distance the quickest in the field at that point.
Coming from a steady pace and finishing speed of 112% means he didn't do it on the bridle, but he acted on good to firm that day and a strongly run 1m at a stiff track could well draw about a big run here.
As a novice last year he finished second to Yazin at Newmarket, and while Yazin flopped recently, he was holding a Group 1 St James Palace Stakes entry before his poor in the Heron on Thursday at Sandown.
