Enda to boss the La Touche again

Back Stealthy Tom @ 2/1 in the 16:50 at Punchestown

I've gone with big prices for the two days thus far without joy, and Cillians Charm went out to a massive 40.0 BSP yesterday from the advised 11/1. He went off too hard but did hit 6/1 in-play.

Nothing so fancy in terms of that price for today's two selections, and it's a case of getting on the board hopefully with a horse I have plenty of time for (in the bumper) and one for Enda over the banks, and the double gives us nearly 5/1.

Bolger last won this race in 2018 with Auvergnat and has a strong candidate again for his loyal benefactor JP McManus in the shape of Stealthy Tom.

He couldn't have been more impressive winning over the Banks' course in February at the track and travelled with a lovely rhythm to come from off the pace and win.

Better ground suits him, so drying conditions across the two days look ideal, and I am not too fazed by the extra mile either, especially with his run style and his dam has also produced the JP horse Gilgamboa - who landed a Hunter Chase at Punchestown.

Harry Swan can claim, and I've been impressed with him since he burst onto the scene and hopefully one of Bruce Springsteen's biggest fans (Enda Bolger) can help us get on the mark.

Willie's in the Bumper

Back Ballyburn @ Evens in the 19:45 at Punchestown

A highly unoriginal and rather unspectacular selection for the second pick today, but I fancied Ballyburn for the Cheltenham Champion Bumper after his debut win - a race which Willie Mullins said he booked his ticket for. He was a no-show however and it seems a long time ago he looked so impressive on his first run.

That debut came in February at the track and traditionally has been a strong bumper. I actually fancied the third in that race Irish Panther, who had previous experience and is a high cruising horse.

Ballyburn was keen and over-raced at the beginning, and he also looked in a spot of bother into the straight. Hitting 20.019/1 in-running was a fair reflection of his chances at one stage, but a late surge saw him get the hang of things and he won going away in the end - something that didn't look likely.

Eschewing Cheltenham could have been a blessing in disguise as the winner looks good, and this is far easier pickings for a horse with an excellent old fashioned staying pedigree.

Noble Endeavor is in his family, and with the second favourite a newcomer, I think he should be odds-on.
