Tate 4yo unexposed for handicap debut
All-Weather fans are in clover at the moment with the amount of racing, and Sunday's fixture for the evening surprisingly has a handicap with 15 runners - almost unheard of these days.
Bringbackmemories done the column a favour recently with a win at Southwell and will have a fair bit of stamina to see off his rivals - and with the field size, it should be run at a good pace.
He's over 1m2f this evening following his 1m4f success last time, and he stayed on well on the stands' side to pick up. A mark of 77 keeps him in this grade too and this looks a good bit of placing and he remains in the unexposed bracket on the All-Weather.
Another unexposed runner in the 18:45 appeals with James Tate's Endless Power - a 4yo who can now start to make up for lost time.
He was unraced as a juvenile but showed ability on his first start at Kempton back in the summer, but then completely bombed out on his subsequent start on turf, but I blame the soft there as he was bogged down and didn't go a yard.
However, he landed his novice over CD when sitting on the pace, and that is always a plus at Chelmsford as it remains a track where it's difficult to come from rear.
He's been gelded since then and returns from 180 days off, and with winning form on the AW, there's should be a few opportunities for a horse with his profile in the next couple of months - especially as he has already proven himself on the surface.
A mark of 83 for his handicap debut today isn't too stern and he does give the impression he might stay a little further.
