Horse Racing Tips: Two decent prices for Thursday Newcastle double

• Northbound was given a lot to do last time

• Sixcor still off a mark that's appealing

• Alan Dudman has 9/110.00 and 7/18.00 selections

Newcastle - 17:35: Back Northbound

I was disappointed to come away from one of my favourite tracks yesterday with a blank at Sedgefield, and we move on to Thursday's card at Newcastle with the 17:35, and the market leader Beylerbeyi is one to take on here.

Northbound looks more of a bet at 9/110.00 and obviously each-way material and ran a race with something to work on last time at Wolverhampton as he was given too much to do.

It was a race where it suited those up with the pace, which is often the case there, but it was his first outing for Peter Niven since joining from Julie Camacho.

A switch to a stiffer track should suit him and he has got some course and distance winning form - albeit back in the summer of 2022.

Newcastle - 19:35: Back Sixcor

We've a similar price with Sixcor at 7/18.00 and he's a pretty solid performer on the turf with four wins and 12 places from his 41 attempts, but just seven runs on the AW makes him of interest to chisel out another couple.

The 6yo did win at Wolverhampton back in November and a race in which he got a nice pace to run at, and he barely comes out of a this sort of grade and that was a 0-65.

He did miss the break badly at Wolves last time, and again, like the first selection, it's hard to make up ground there and he has got a bit of form at Newcastle and finished third over CD in a slightly better race in the winter.

A bit of cover and pace, expect him to come from back, but he does look overpriced considering it's a small field.
