Horse Racing Tips: Tuer to the rescue for Tuesday 54/1 Newcastle double

Newcastle - 17:00: Back Skilled Warrior

Skilled Warrior for Grant Tuer doesn't win very often - both on turf and the All-Weather, but he's off a dangerous mark these days and has been backed this morning on the Sportsbook from 13/27.50 into 11/26.50.

He was well beaten over 1m4f at the track last time and has been flirting with distances between 1m4f and 1m2f, so he's interesting dropping back down in distance today considering he stays and stays so well.

The 6yo has got a C&D win to his name, that came in April when he saw his race out well, and he's down another few pounds to 75 today.

Newcastle - 18:30: Back Lahab

I am going for the Tuer double on Tuesday as I think the yard's Lahab comes into the equation for the 18:30 at 13/27.50.

He's a lightly-raced 4yo who had previously been trained by Andrew Balding, and he landed a summer Chepstow Novice over 7f in easy fashion by over 3L.

Another selection too that looks like he will stay well, he goes handicapping for the first time on his debut for Tuer and a mark of 77 looks more than fair for his debut for the new stable.
