Alan Dudman has a big price double on the All-Weather
All double figure fields for Dundalk on Friday and it's a welcome return following a pretty thin week with runners and races, and I am keeping the faith with Volatile Analyst.
I fancied him over 6f last time at the track recently, and while he wasn't beaten far, the steady pace over that shorter trip was a factor against him and a return to 7f is a plus.
In 2022 he won a 7f contest at Wolverhampton for previous trainer Keith Dalgleish from a mark of 101, so he is undeniably well handicapped from 82.
He ran while behind Cash Or Crypto at Dundalk in November so he does act around here, but he ruined his chance of winning there by hanging.
The mark is too good to turn down as he has to pop up sooner or later for his excellent trainer Ado McGuinness.
The 18:45 has a ton of runners and with markets being so up and down at Dundalk, Alfarida could either take a massive walk in the betting or come in. But with the field size, she should be a price.
Indeed, there was a bit of 20/121.00 floating around on Thursday afternoon, but then she was 14s and 16s, which is still more than acceptable, especially if you are playing her each-way.
She ran poorly last time over 7f at Dundalk and was well beaten, but it was her first start off a break of 112 days and that trip does look on the short side these days.
The 4yo filly is back over 1m tonight and she went close over CD from a higher mark in the summer.
With Paddy Hartnett claiming 5lb from a good draw, I am hoping she can return to some sort of form.
