Lingfield - 14:00: Back Dragon Icon

Some very good handicaps to deal with on Saturday at Lingfield, a card that is head and shoulders above Wolverhampton, and we'll deal with the 14:00 1m Handicap and Dragon Icon.

He's the selection at 7/24.50 and has a mark of 95 for his handicap debut. He's a horse with a profile you wouldn't expect to see in January as he ran (and was last seen) in the German 2,000 Guineas where he was beaten by 8L.

His two wins in novice company on the All-Weather were most impressive previously, as he came from a long way back in both races at Kempton and Lingfield.

The Lingfield race saw the pace almost down to a crawl with a race finishing speed of 111%, but Dragon Icon ran two closing sectionals at 10.6 seconds, and he has a most potent turn of foot.

I am looking forward to seeing him today off a break, and he has scored previously from 162 days off.

Back Dragon Icon @ 7/24.50

Lingfield - 15:10: Back Behind The Scenes

A pretty decent race for the Lingfield Winter Oaks, and while the top of the tree in terms of ratings holds fillies with marks in the high 80s, it's a race that has a few that are sure to improve.

There's not much value in backing the favourite Oh So Grand at 13/82.63, but the 7s appeal for James Tate's Behind The Scenes.

She beat Godolphin's Veil Of Shadows at Wolverhampton in the summer, and that runner is now rated 103. Behind The Scenes also ran well on her next start behind Tyndrum Gold, who is a smart All-Weather performer.

The 1m2f looks well within her range and with her experience, should handle the hustle and bustle of this race.

Back Behind The Scenes @ 7/18.00
