Horse Racing Tips: Rossa the star man for Monday Wolverhampton double

Wolverhampton
Rossa Ryan has been the star man at Wolverhampton this year

Alan Dudman was in good tipping form last week and he starts on Monday with a Sportsbook double at Wolverhampton...

  • Two selections for the Wolverhapton Monday card

  • Rossa Ryan well clear as leading jockey at track

  • Tweny Bob interesting for his handicap debut

Wolverhampton - 19:00: Back Twenty Bob

Two selections at Wolverhampton to start the week and we begin with Twenty Bob who has shown enough to be competitive in this sort of grade.

He made a pleasing introduction in a race at Yarmouth last summer - his sole start as a 2yo, and did well from a poor position to finish third. Not many of William Knight's win first time out but he stayed on well over 6f having been outpaced and a few winners have come out that race, including a couple from John Gosden and William Haggas that finished down the field.

Twenty Bob wasn't seen again in 2023 and was gelded soon after that run, and made his comeback at Wolverhampton in January over 7f but clearly was in need of that.

He showed more ability on his third start behind an odds-on Ralph Beckett winner and judged on that, he should be a factor here from his opening handicap mark of 65.

Twenty Bob also has a fair pedigree, and Knight is probably still glowing in the aftermath of Frost At Dawn's win at Meydan on Saturday - picking up a cool 150k.

Wolverhampton - Back My Turn Now

My Turn Now had dropped a long way in the weights prior to her victory last time out to win over Wolverhampton's 5f, and once again in lowly company should be competitive here.

That was her first ever victory, and while it was in Classified Stakes company and a poor level, the key to her could be 5f.

She had raced over 6f and 7f and at the start of her career had a mark of 68 with Clive Cox. Now with Michael Attwater, she's only off 51 so she's found her level - or a winning one at least.

Rossa Ryan delivered a double for us last week and is 22-86 at 25% showing a profit to level stakes of +12.00 and he's also the top rider at Wolverhampton this year with 19-71 at nearly 27%.

The selection is drawn well and had been backed this morning too on the Sportsbook from 10/34.33 into 11/43.75 intially, although that didn't last long and was 5/23.50.
