Alan Dudman has two multiple picks at Sandown and York
A decent couple of days await at York starting today and I am hoping Dean Ivory can do it for Hertfordshire in the opener with Pledge Of Hounour.
Slightly uneasy in the market from 9/25.50 out to 11/26.50 this morning, he is out to add to his career victory tally of five - and four of those came last season.
In two starts so far in 2023, he got found out slightly on his return at Newbury in quite a strong race, but it was much more like it last time at Doncaster against the lightly-raced Shimmering Sands.
A race finishing speed of 110% suited those prominently ridden although it was a small field, and the winner looked best placed on the inner with a better turn of foot.
I can see the wide open straight at York suiting Pledge Of Honour.
His victory at Doncaster last term was one of his best in 0-90 class off 73 - a race where he came from the back to win by over 2L.
Ivory has also booked apprentice Harry Davies - who is 13% win and 46% placed on the Knavesmire.
I put up Crown Estate for the column last week for his debut against the 2,000,000 euros horse Ancient Wisdom, who looked different class pulling away in eye catching fashion to run riot at Haydock.
Crown Estate was keen in the early stages but got into the race eventually, but was too green to lay a glove on the winner.
It's a good sign he's out so quickly (just seven days), and we're backing the natural improvement from first to second start as he has a decent pedigree himself.
Whether 7f is too sharp was one of my questions this morning looking at his race again, but this is usually quite a good maiden as Native Trail won this two seasons ago.
John Gosden also holds a 24% strike-rate at Sandown from the last five seasons and Crown Estate earned a glowing reference on RacingTV in the paddock seven days ago.
