Southwell - 18:30: Back Roman Art

Humanity completed the 11/112.00 double last night at Kempton for the column with a superb 6L victory - and if only they all won that. Hughie Morrison provided the first leg of yesterday's multiple with a win, and I am with the trainer again for Southwell.

Morrison's Roman Art sneaks in here off a low weight as one of the 3yos and was backed this morning on the Sportsbook from 13/27.50 into 9/25.50.

The 3yo started out handicapping this term from 65, but was very disappointing in a handful of runs, but his first attempt at Southwell last time over CD brought about plenty of improvement on what we had seen from him previously, and he took to the surface well.

The first-time blinkers had the desired effect and they are retained today.

Southwell - 19:30: Back Flying Panther

Flying Panther produced a career-best last time out at Kempton over 1m, and a 4lb rise might not be enough to stop him for this evening with a switch to Southwell.

He does seem a better horse on the Polytrack over 1m with form of 121, and he produced a fair time considering it was a lowly 0-55 at Kempton - a race in which he stormed home and stayed well coming from a long way off the pace.

It was deserved too as previously he was unlucky at Lingfield where he was short of room inside the final 2f.

Trainer Tom Ward's best strike-rate at 16% is with his 3yos on the All-Weather, and Flying Panther can back-up those two good runs.
