Horse Racing Tips: Game Set and match for Kempton Wednesday double

• Burrows 44% placed at Kempton

Kempton - 18:00: Back Game Set

With the weather changing so rapidly, betting at Kempton looks the safest option this evening and field sizes are reasonable on the All-Weather for Wednesday.

Owen Burrows' Game Set had one go on soft ground last year and he flopped, so there's a ready-made excuse for that third run, but he'd previously landed 2-2 in novice company.

His 7f victory at Wolverhampton was the better of his two runs (scored at Doncaster too) as he travelled well with a forward ride and handled the steady pace fairly easily with his final two sectionals by far the quickest.

He was full of pace but he stayed on strongly with the field quite well strung out at the end, and I don't envisage the 1m tonight as any sort of problem at all. And with an All-Weather victory already to his name, a switch to Kempton could also be a positive.

A drop of 2lb from his last handicap run puts him to 85 and sneaks into this grade from top weight and and as an unexposed sort, should be able to offer more.

Burrows does have a 44% placed strike-rate at Kempton too.

Kempton - 20:00: Back Zero Carbon

Zero Carbon is another who should appreciate running back on the All-Weather as his superior record of five wins from 10 on the surfaces compared to 1-10 on turf offers up more hope.

This is also a big drop down in class as he rnn in the Victoria Cup last time at Ascot, and after ducking the start, was in a poor position out the back at met trouble. It was a total disaster, although he was a 33/1 outsider.

His record at Kempton is excellent with 3-5 and he can make the running too. Indeed, he has winning form around here when making all.

His trainer Richard Hughes must think he's capable of something quite good as he's been in some deep handicaps in time, but his record at Kempton sways me with the drop in class.
