Horse Racing Tips: Expect more from Gincident in Southwell 66/1 double

• Prices at 15/28.50 and 7/18.00 for Tuesday pair

• Gincident can end a winless run at Southwell

• Drop in class the angle for Award Dancer

Southwell - 18:00: Back Gincident

A 0-88 Handicap at Southwell is one of the better races on the card on Tuesday, and also looking at the each-way options Gincident is worth an interest at 7/18.00.

I am surprised he hasn't added to his April win last year at Musselburgh in a Sunday Series race, and since then he's gone six races without a victory.

His trainer Richard Fahey said at one stage he was struggling with his mark (once 89), so it's a relief to all he's down to 82 today.

He didn't run too badly at Southwell last time over the 1m with a forward ride, and he wasn't beaten far on his previous run at Wolverhampton behind Ernie's Valentine. His chances were compromised there by racing too keenly.

Gincident goes well on the All-Weather and has acted around Southwell before, and with his usual forward tactics, he will be a nice back-to-lay trade from his price. He stays 1m well as he has scored at Newcastle, and he looks worth playing now his mark is coming down.

Southwell - 19:00: Back Award Dancer

The following 19:00 2m Handicap is a good race for the class considering quite a few of these are bang in form.

Award Dancer was a drifter this morning to 8/19.00 on the Sportsbook and the angle with him is dropping down in grade.

He ran in better company over the 2m at the track last time and previously had finished off strongly at Wolverhampton over 2m behind Savvy Brilliance.

The 6yo is very much unexposed at the trip and his trainer Grant Tuer seems to have sorted out any issues following wind surgery, and his three runs back since have all been positive.

Running off top weight and a mark of 75 I can see him running quite well.
