Yarmouth - 14:40: Back Budding

Hughie Morrison and Oisin Murphy team up with Budding for handicap debut in the 14:40 at Yarmouth and the selection has a chance to better what we have seen so far.

In three juvenile runs all on the All-Weather she has raced over 1m, but as a daughter of Cracksman, the step up to 1m2f today looks a positive move and should suit.

Her last outing in January at Wolverhampton was a disappointment and was a step backwards from her previous effort, but it was steadily run and I doubt Wolves was her track.

She was beaten 3L at Kempton at the turn of the year and that perhaps was her standout effort, and while the form looked moderate at the time, at least the seventh Hatadora has won since (yesterday at Windsor). She stayed on there and that's what we are pinning the hopes on.

Murphy has a decent strike-rate when riding for the yard and is 23% win and 42% placed.

Yarmouth - 16:25: Back Elladonna

James Fanshawe's Elladonna appeared on this column on her latest run recently but I was left a bit disappointed with her finishing effort over 1m considering she travelled so well.

Indeed, she came down into the straight looking like a potential winner and hit 2.01/1 in-running to finish fifth.

That wasn't the first time she's hit shorter and defeated, but I don't want to give up on her just yet considering her profile as she is lightly-raced.

Offering up an excuse for her Kempton run petering out, it was her first off a break and she will be fitter here.

Her Salisbury debut last spring has worked out well too, and sticking to 1m on decent ground should illicit a strong effort today and could still be well treated from her mark of 74.
