Tuer runner worth a shot dropping to 6f

King's Code to go well from 3lb higher mark
Away from the star-studded cast at Newmarket, there's some good racing at Ripon and a proper Saturday handicap is one of the better races on the card today over 6f with 13 runners in a 0-105.
It's also one of the Extra Place Specials on the Sportsbook with the four places and the 9/110.00 appeals on Grant Tuer's The Turpinator.
The 6yo hasn't quite been at his best this season but he has been racing over 7f and 1m and he's a fascinating contender with the angle of dropping down to sprinting.
His last two runs have been big steps in the right direction as he finished third at York on his latest start and had scored at Thirsk the one before.
The ground was good to soft on the Knavesmire last time, and while he seems to act with some cut, I think he's a better horse on decent ground and he'll have that in his favour today.
He dropped down from 1m to 7f for Thirsk and appreciated the easier opposition, but he did win a 0-95 last term at Goodwood with a brave ride that day and the sharp 7f there was his bag.
With pace to run at, although from a less than ideal draw, he looks place material at least with the price and I wouldn't be surprised if he drifted a little.
The final race at Chester is another Extra Place Special on the Sportsbook and I can just about accept seven in terms of the draw with King's Code, a horse who looks to have some more improvement in him from a mark of 77.
He's one of the 3yos in the line-up and finished third at Haydock recently over 1m and ran an efficient race on the clock off a sound pace with a race finishing speed of 102% and actually ran the final furlong nearly half a second quicker than the eventual winner Pearl Eye.
Formerly trained by Richard Hannon, he scored on first start for David Evans earlier in the summer at Newbury and he showed again he finished off his race well.
Conditions could be quite a test today at Chester and with his ability to see out his races, I'll take a chance with him with Joe Fanning on board.
