Alan Dudman had a winner and a second in yesterday's double search, and he looks at Kempton on Saturday with two picks...

Two handicaps stand out at Kempton

Bascule should have too much class at 2m

Alan Dudman has 7/42.75 and 5/23.50 selections
A close call for the double yesterday with Grozni rather annoyingly failing to get up in time, and with the jumps' programme all but decimated, we'll have a look at the two best races on the Kempton card.
Top Secret is in fine nick at the moment and won a 0-90 last time over CD with plenty to spare, and in the process showing his liking for Kempton and the All-Weather.
He came up the inside at the cutaway last time and practically floated into contention in the sprint for home, and one of his closing sectionals was at 11.19 seconds.
A rise of 6lbs is warranted, but he remains of interest considering he ran so well in better company on the turf in May with a second to Bear Force One at Newbury, and that looked hot form considering Sonny Liston was in that race and was well beaten.
Top Secret loves Kempton and is a fairly straightforward ride as he sits handy and can quicken. The film of the same name is also marvellous with a very young Val Kilmer.
Finding a bet on the low-key Kempton card on Saturday was far from easy, but Bascule should be in better shape after an eyecatching run last time following a seven month break.
He ran in a fairly strong 0-105 over 1m4f at Wolverhampton behind the progressive Vaguely Royal, and considering that would have been far too sharp of a test for Richard Hughes' runner, the return to 2m at Kempton is a huge plus.
The winner at Wolvers made the running and quickened up from the front, where as Bascule, who was holding an inside pitch, wasn't quite quick enough off a slow-ish pace.
He's down in class massively this evening and considering he ran in the Queen's Prize at the track last spring off 91, he's in a an easier race today and off a reduced figure too at his optimum trip.
I'd be disappointed if he couldn't win this, although the price was somewhat missed last night as the 11/43.75 was taken pretty sharply on the Sportsbook.
But away from some poor races for a Saturday, Bascule could have a bit of class off 87.
