Alan has two handicappers to back each-way today at Epsom

Alan Dudman has two selections at Epsom on Friday, priced at 11/2 and 9/1 in a Betfair Sportsbook double...

  • Epsom starts on Friday with Oaks day

  • Handicapper can build on Cambridgeshire third

  • Unexposed Balding runner in second leg

Epsom - 15:45 - Back Dual Identity

The best we managed was a third yesterday with Quatre Bras trading at 1.564/7 in the run to place. Hopefully Friday's card at Epsom on Oaks day can offer some profit starting with William Knight's Dual Identity in one of the handicaps.

The 5yo has some solid placed Handicap form and his run last time ties in with Honiton - finishing fourth behind John Gosden's runner at Newmarket in a small field that didn't suit.

He's very much a horse that likes a pace to run at in a bigger field and conditions on good ground or quicker over 1m2f is what he wants.

A win at Sandown last year was one of his most impressive performances showing an excellent turn of foot and he bettered that with a third in the Cambridgeshire over the far side.

Neil Callan takes over from Jamie Spencer, and the assessor has dropped him rather kindly by 1lb to 92.

Back Dual Identity

9/1

Epsom - 16:30 - Back Clochette

Oisin Murphy dons the yellow and black polka dot silks for the finale with the unexposed Clochette and she goes handicapping for the first time following her run at York.

That was her first effort of the season for Andrew Balding, and she acquitted herself well considering she was up in class to Listed level and attempted the trip of a 1m for the first time.

She didn't look a strong stayer on the evidence, and dropping down to 7f could work here.

Back Clochette

11/2

York also can remind us of how runners can get lost down in the straight, and she was carried over the far side but still kept tabs on the smart Queen For You until the final furlong.

She really caught the eye on debut at Newbury as a 2yo last term and scored on quick ground making all at Ascot and could be interesting from her mark of 93.
