Trainer Owen Burrows launched the career of Minzaal on this day at Salisbury three years ago

Alan Dudman is hoping trainers Owen Burrows and Roger Varian are amongst the winners on Wednesday with a double starting at Salisbury...

  • Burrows could have a good newcomer

  • Wild Goddess form put to the test

  • Two juveniles feature in Wednesday 12/113.00 multiple

Salisbury - 14:45 - Back Moyassr

Owen Burrows has some previous history with the Michael Brunton Memorial British EBF Novice Stakes 6f at 14:45, as his Minzaal landed one of the divisions in 2020. The trainer this time around saddles the expensive Moyassr.

He's a £150,000 breeze-up buy from Mehmas, so it bodes well he can start nice and early.

The jockey booking of Kevin Stott is a good one for the yard, as Stott is 18% win and 35% placed at Salisbury. In a season of plenty of poor rides on the Flat, Stott is a jockey who doesn't make many mistakes.

Burrows is a healthy 4-9 with his juveniles this season at 44%, and at 3/14.00, Moyassr will hopefully be sharp enough to add to that tally.

Kempton - 18:30 - Back Poutchek

Another 2yo selection for the evening card at Kempton, and a chance to assess the recent form of Wild Goddess' Newmarket win. She had Poutchek in third 26 days ago, and there was a lot of promise in that debut run. Ahead of her was another Cheveley Park runner, and it could well be a decent bit of form.

Wild Goddess could be a May Hill filly, so there was no disgrace in finishing 4L behind, but Poutchek was very green and looked too inexperienced to lay a glove on the second and winner.

The likely favourite here Gushing Gold is rated 87, but was beaten at Newbury last time on her third outing and was 10L down in the Albany.

Poutchek is well drawn in 4 for this, and with the obvious improvement to come having stayed on quite nicely at Newmarket, she can get close to Gushing Gold.

Sire Ulysses has a 30% placed record at Kempton.
