Horse Racing Tips: Back a Morebattle day double at Kelso on Saturday

Kelso
A Premier day is in store at Kelso on Saturday

Alan Dudman had a decent price winner at Dundalk yesterday, and has a Saturday double with two of the ITV races from Kelso...

  • Wadge with a 20% strike-rate at Kelso

  • Bingoo can go well in quest for another big pot

Kelso - 13:42: Back Serious Operator

Kelso's big day is always a meeting that I have enjoyed and the opening 13:42 looks a good renewal with nine runners and Serious Operator at 4/15.00 is the play.

The 7yo ran a fine race under the circumstances in the Lanzarote last time - a race where he was held up and met trouble before the home turn. He was also found to have lost a shoe.

I am hoping the ground stays on the good to soft side and not too testing, as those sort of conditions could be ideal.

Indeed, he looked such a good horse winning a 0-140 at Doncaster when beating Pentland Hills earlier in the season and he travelled so well in that race from 121.

He won at Ayr's Scottish National meeting last term and also won a novice over CD at Kelso in his younger days. Good ground would be perfect, but we are unlikely to get that, but I do expect him to improve from his current rating. I am also a big fan of the rider Patrick Wadge and his 3lb claim. He has a 20% strike-rate at Kelso this term with 5-25.

Kelso - 14:50: Back Bingoo

A fair old move on the Sportsbook for Ballygeary from 20s into 12s was interesting on Friday when the prices were up for the Morebattle and if all 18 stand their ground, the rarity for punters awaits with such a large field.

It goes without saying the selection Bingoo at 12/113.00 is an each-way price with the Extra Place Special paying five.

Bingoo has Hexham form, and I am a subscriber and paid up member of the Hexham fan club as if you stay there, you stay anywhere.

He took his form to another level when landing a big prize at Aintree on Boxing Day, and that was some effort after a break but he scored by nearly 2L from 124, and with the way he was going in that, he could still be well treated.

He does want some cut in the ground according to his trainer James Moffatt and he's a strong traveller that always catches the eye. The 8s does look big and a well-run 2m with his run style and form over 2m4f should suit him down the ground.
