Alan Dudman has a double at Bath and Beverley
After a superb three days at Newmarket, the quality dips somewhat for a Bank Holiday Monday, as it is very much a case of quantity over quality, and in truth, bets were hard to dig out.
Bath's card is usual for the track, but Malcolm Saunders seems to have Joy Choi in good shape and has a chance to build on her latest run.
She finished second to Tyger Bay at a massive price on her reappearance at the track and break of 272 days and also met some trouble in running inside the final furlong.
The selection finished off strongly at Salisbury to win over the minimum last term and given a clear run with the drop in class here (was a 0-72 last time), she looks to have a chance.
Saunders has a fair few of his runners at Bath and nudges 9% in five years at the track.
A fairly moderate Handicap over near-enough a mile awaits at 16:15, and Tim Easterby's Mister Sox is a tentative selection on a tricky card.
The 4yo has performed on a variety of surfaces ranging from good to firm and heavy, so I wouldn't worry about the conditions on the Westwood too much and if it stays good to soft, there will be no excuses, although I'd like to see soft still in the description.
He ran poorly on his first start of the season at Thirsk in genuine heavy ground, but ran a much better race last time when going down by a nose at Doncaster in 0-65 grade last time. The return of the cheekpieces seemed to have had the desired effect then as Easterby dispensed with the blinkers.
This looks his ideal trip and while he can miss the break, he's pretty solid in this grade and should run to his figure given he is consistent in the 60s.
