Friday's All-Weather double pays 20/1
Lily and Billie to combine for Willie
Back Lily Maguire @ 15/4 in the 16:25 at Dundalk
Jockey Billy Lee looks as though he has a good opportunity to get one on the board tonight at Dundalk as he teams up with Bill McCreery for the ride on twice-raced Lily Maguire in the 16:25 Maiden.
Her debut was one of some promise back in December with a 3L defeat and her inexperience and greenness were factors over 7f, but she certainly improved last time to run second - only to be tipped off by a 12/1 Luke Comer runner.
She was far more alert on her latest start; bouncing out to make the running once again over 7f - hitting around 5/4 in-play in defeat.
Her dam was a better horse on the AW with two wins from three starts and I don't see the drop down to 6f today as a negative at all. With another forward ride, she should go close.
Lee is 5-36 this year at Dundalk and Lily Maguire's sire Free Eagle does quite well in the UK with runners on the All-Weather with a 17% win-rate and 35% placed.
Expect improvement from Outlook
Back Urban Outlook @ 7/2 in the 18:45 at Southwell
Over to Southwell this evening for the second selection and I am looking to take on the favourite Sax Appeal with the penalty at 2/1 with Andrew Balding's Urban Outlook.
He made his debut in a slightly messy 1m2f Lingfield race, but a couple of good yards were represented in that with fancied runners from both Hugo Palmer and Ralph Beckett's stable.
The 3yo was far too green to make an impact and the price of 18/1 that day pre-emptied the run with not much expected.
He's a big horse and was hopeless early on as he was under pressure and gave the leading trio a near 12L start - not ideal on the short run at Lingfield. I am not sure that was his track either.
Urban Outlook did stay on well enough and the extra furlong is a plus today. He also ran a quicker final 1f sectional than the winner, but the race finish speed of 108% done for him.
Southwell should suit him better than Lingfield and his sire Cityscape has a 15% win rate at Southwell and 37% placed.
