En Coeur has the pace for drop in trip

Back En Coeur @ 4/1 in the 14:00 at Plumpton

En Coeur has appeared a couple of times in the Daily Racing Multiple column and has been successful once, and lost once, although I forgive his effort last time.

He was worth a punt last time at Fontwell but he didn't look a stayer at 2m6f on that occasion and never really threatened when held up off the pace in what looked quite a test.

Previously he had absolutely bolted up by 13L at Plumpton over 2m4f and travelled so well he has to be of interest down to today's trip as he has more than enough pace for the sharper test.

Off a low weight today and getting plenty from the top weight, I expect he will be delivered late again by Micheal Nolan and while his mark is creeping up, he looks worth a punt at 4/1 for a trainer that does well here - and Seamus Mullins holds a 16% strike-rate over five seasons at Plumpton.

Front-running success beckons

Back Gloire D'athon @ 9/4 in the 15:00 at Plumpton

An interesting market for the 15:00 2m4f Novices' Handicap Chase and the favourites have changed positions this morning with Lord Baddesley going into market leader at 2/1 and Gloire D'athon going out to 9/4, and the latter gets the nod.

Gloire D'athon is a very likable front-runner and scored at Sandown last time with a splendid jumping display when dominating a small field in 0-135 company.

He is now 3-5 over fences and likes good ground, so conditions will suit him today and he can build a good rhythm with a lead as Lord Baddesley is usually held up.

From 125 he needs more, but essentially this is a drop in class from Sandown.
