Trainer Roger Charlton teams up with Richard Kingscote at Haydock on Wednesday

"There's every possibility that Kingscote could lead in this, and with 54 winners around here in the last five seasons, he can strike for us hopefully."

Alan Dudman is eyeing a 12/1 double at Haydock on Wednesday with John Gosden and Roger Charlton horses...

It's Sea The Stars time again at Haydock

Back One World @ 4.3310/3 in the 14:55 at Haydock

The ground done for us yesterday, as the heavens opened at Brighton and put paid to a pair of horses that look as though they want it quicker. We march on to Wednesday with a bit of quality, unlike Wetherby last night where there was a horse running rated 16. And nearly everything seemed to play up before races.

One World was a selection for the last Haydock meeting, the now infamous Haydock meeting, so sadly I didn't get to see the son of Sea The Stars make his debut. I get my chance again today with the newcomer, who is nestled in between a Godolphin pair for this 2yo Novice. A Charlie Appleby sandwich perhaps for the market?

I often tweet about my admiration for Sea The Stars as a horse and a stallion, and I was told a few years ago that a top profile trainer said that one day STS will be a better stallion than Galileo. Interesting, and I don't mind re-hashing that quote from my previous preview.

One World has that superb cross with a Dubawi dam called Time Chaser - and she herself won on debut as a 3yo and has produced the exciting Time Lock and that's the Passage Of Time family, and Time Lock recently took apart her a field on her second start having finished well beaten behind Emily Upjohn on her debut.

These are exciting times for stallion buffs, as Frankel, Dubawi and Sea The Stars are producing so much quality. His record as a sire at Haydock is interesting; winning at a 16% strike-rate from 100 runners with 39% placed. Although this is very much a win selection.

Johnny G is on the hot trainers list in the last month with 23 winners from 73 runners at almost 32%, and it's interesting they are sticking with the plan to keep the horse to Haydock after last week's non-event.

Moon can have the favourite in her sights

It's disappointing only three turn out considering the £8100 prize money on offer, and it seems when the money is there, they still don't come.

However, I am not writing off Roger Charlton's Moon Island just yet, and with Richard Kingscote on board - who is so tactically cute around here, I am happy siding with her at 3.02/1 now that the initial odds-on favourite Reel Rosie is a non-runner.

She was a progressive 2yo winning over 7f and 1m last term, and the way shaped in both of those races, it was worth a go chancing the 1m2f last time out. She might not have stayed the trip although her pedigree suggests otherwise, but I am more inclined to lean towards the fact she needed the run. Plus it appeared her trainer started the early part of the season slowly.

Good and good to firm suits, so please leave the watering cans alone. There's every possibility that Kingscote could lead in this, and with 54 winners around here in the last five seasons, he can strike for us hopefully.
