With a stellar card at Naas on Wednesday night, Alan Dudman has included a runner in Ireland for his 40/1 each-way double...
Wade to produce a machine-like performance down in class
Back Wade's Magic @ 7.513/2 in the 13:55 at Catterick
Time to fly the Tim Easterby flag again for the column, and Wade's Magic should enjoy a return to Catterick on Wednesday - but more importantly he should have a better chance with a drop in class.
He's dipped under the 60 mark for the first time in ages, and with able 3lb apprentice Sean Kirrane on, that 5yo looks the one despite a wide draw.
Wade's Magic produced his best run of the season last month over Newcastle's stiff 5f and wasn't beaten too far in a race run at a good even tempo, but his finishing sectional was slow to suggest a less taxing track will suit better - and his record at Catterick would back that up as his form here reads 7311.
This is a drop from 0-75 company and he's a previous Class 4 winner and with form on both soft and good to firm, he looks a fair each-way price at 13/2 with the 12 runners.
He's tough and durable too with 15 runs last season, and from those he clocked three wins and six places over 5f and 6f. He can be a little keen but he'll have a good pace to chase.
Find treasure with Twomey's Trove for juvenile feature
Back Treasure Trove @ 5.59/2 in the 19:00 at Naas
Some excellent racing awaits at Naas on Wednesday evening and a couple of nice prospects go in the Listed Marwell Stakes for juveniles at 19:00.
Mauiewowie looked potentially very classy winning on her debut for Ger Lyons last time, but the more experienced Treasure Trove has been in deep so far in her career, and she looks more attractive at 9/2.
Prior to winning last time out, she has taken on Meditate - a subsequent Royal Ascot winner, Blackbeard and The Antartic. In calmer waters on her most recent start she bolted up by nearly 5L in a Down Royal Maiden to easily take care of business there. The 2yo travelled super smoothly despite racing wide throughout from her poor draw.
Her finishing kick was impressive and that turn of pace could be a big weapon here. Billy Lee and Paddy Twomey have been one of the success stories of the season and Twomey is on the hot trainer list with 5-17 at nearly 30%.
