O'Meara can make the journey from Yorkshire count with Autumn
Back Autumn Festival @ 1.910/11 in the 14:25 at Chepstow
Alma Libre's second was the closest we got yesterday, with a narrow second and denied 1.991/1 in-running. Five Zeros was the other selection and there's certainly a race with her over middle-distances. She just went off way too hard from the front at Sandown.
On with Monday and we are playing at short prices to hopefully give us a nice return for the double.
David O'Meara enjoyed a couple of big wins at York last week with Blue For You and Summerghand winning handicaps, and the stats point to a winning run from Autumn Festival in the 14:25.
The Yorkshire handler doesn't send too many to Chepstow, and over the years his record from 10 runners reads four wins and six places at 40% and 60%. The fact he has William Buick booked is more than interesting - who makes the journey to Wales for the first time.
Autumn Festival was a winner at Sandown recently and is looking for his fourth win of the season. Quick ground is his thing and he stays 1m well. The 7f should see him bounce out again, and as front-runners do well at the track, he can win from a 2lb higher mark. He does need a personal best, but it isn't a strong race.
Granary can be the Queen at Brighton again
Back Granary Queen @ 5.59/2 in the 16:20 at Brighton
Trainer Eve Johnson-Houghton has enjoyed a fair bit of success at Brighton this term with 4-20 at 20% and shows a level stakes profit with a return of +12.95, and her Granary Queen goes well at the seaside venue.
She ran in the Brighton Mile Challenge last time - one of the best races at the course over the season. She wasn't disgraced in fifth and beaten 7L, but she had to come from a long way off the pace.
A return to 7f will be ideal, and this represents a drop in class considerably.
She recorded a personal best winning over CD earlier in the summer, and a good pace to aim at really suits her. With the quick ground in her favour and course record, she can boost our double price.
