Daily Racing Multiple: Bob and Brian to rule the roost at Scone Palace

Alan's opening leg of today's double runs in the Perth feature

Alan Dudman is looking to add to his recent 23 winners with runners at Perth and Redcar on Wednesday for his 11/1 Sportsbook multiple...

Bob and Brian look to continue the progression

Back Bavington Bob @ 4.57/2 in the 14:45 at Perth

The run slightly came to an end yesterday with two blanks, and I say slightly as Saltonstall ran a cracker in seventh in a big field to miss out on the each-way part, and he was hammered in the market too from 28s into 14s.

I was also slightly annoyed that Chief Of Staff won at 11/2 for the Daily Racing News column, and another single winner would have been nice for this one, but the P and L is for multiples, and I am playing something less exotic than yesterday's two. Although Self Belief also acquitted himself well in the Listowel Stakes.

On with Wednesday and on such a busy day I am off to Perth for their feature and the David Whitaker Handicap Chase - with a good line up too with the top weight Jerrysback bidding for the hat-track and rated 142.

It was good to see Bavington Bob strong in the betting this morning from 4/1 into 7/2 and he's a horse I have plenty of time for as last season he improved about 20lb.

He doesn't appear to be hindered by ground conditions with wins on heavy and good, and his best effort was by some way a 3m success at Kelso last term. He's a very sound jumper with a tenacious attitude, who comes from the pace and stays well, some big targets will surely await for the Hamiltons' chaser, who is 4-6 over fences and can still progress.

Champion jockey Brian Hughes won three times on him last season and is 12-43 at 28% at Perth this season. Bavington Bob also goes well fresh to make him a good bet today and I wouldn't be surprised to see him as a potential Eider horse for the new campaign.

Keen to oppose Gracelands Girl at Redcar

Back Kaif @ 2.757/4 in the 15:28 at Redcar

I wasn't exactly surprised to see Tim Easterby's Gracelands Girl drift from 13/8 to 15/8 this morning as with five goes without a win, and a rating I am not sure she is worth, I am firmly with Kaif on second outing for a winnable Maiden.

The 3yo filly ran third despite a massive 239 BSP on debut over 1m at Kempton. The time figure wasn't stunning as the steady early pace suited those who finished first and second with more prominent rides. But Kaif did well to fare best of those coming from the rear, and dropping down to 7f shouldn't be an issue at all.

Trainer David Simcock doesn't have stacks of runners at Redcar, but he has a strike-rate of 19% from his 37 runners and a placed record of 51%. Obviously at 7/4, Kaif is win only.
