A winning 5/1 double yesterday for Alan Dudman, who has unearthed a 7/1 pair of chasing debutants for Saturday's Kelso card...
- Our multiple man landed a 5/1 Hexham double yesterday
- Four out of four winning selections recently
- Al Dudman is backing a 7/1 Sportsbook double on Saturday at Kelso for his latest multiple
Nety well up to the task at Kelso
Back Netywell @ 3.02/1 in the 13:08 at Kelso
Two winners from two selections yesterday to land the 5/1 double and Hexham certainly provided two young horses for the future, although Captain Quint was a bit raw, but that long neck of his will stand him in good stead.
Lucinda Russell handed us a winner with the first leg yesterday and I am hoping she can repeat the feat with Netywell - a chase debutant who is built and made for the game.
The 5yo created a good impression over hurdles last term. His second at Carlisle in February was a fair race behind Git Maker - who is now nudging towards a 130-hurdler. A couple of winners came out of the race too.
Netywell's sign-off run last campaign was an easy 5L victory at Wetherby, and he had little issue with the heavy conditions. After four runs hurdling, Russell drew stumps on that career and it's over the fences today.
A mark of 111 could have let this horse in lightly and Russell is 6-21 this season at Kelso at 29%. She also has landed this race twice in the last six years.
Ned primed for a winning start over fences
Back Ned Tanner @ 2.89/5 in the 14:53 at Kelso
Ned Tanner sounds as if he should be named after someone famous, but a quick search reveals he isn't - unless Senior Analyst of AION Partners - Ned Tanner is more popular than we would have known.
There are no problems identifying winners from the Nick Alexander team at the moment as Ayr recently proved a good meeting recently, and Ned Tanner looks a likely type for fences too for the 3M Novices' Handicap Chase.
His dam Rose Tanner is by the great Roselier, and it's always heart-warming to see that family line for a top weekend of racing.
Ned Tanner is set for his chase debut this afternoon and any rain will be most welcome as he handled testing going with no qualms at all last season - winning a couple of Novice Hurdles at Kelso and Ayr. He beat Famous Bridge here last season, easily too, and Famous Bridge is a horse I rate quite highly.
He raced twice over 3m last term and could have done with a stronger gallop in one of them, while the 3m at Haydock in soft was what is known as a "brutaliser" in the game as that was testing stuff.
However, he has travelled well in the past (notably at Kelso) to suggest he could be well treated for his chasing bow, while he gives the appearance of a stayer from his run over 2m4f last term at Ayr on his final start of the season.
