"Hughes rode him over fences at Rasen earlier in the summer when he picked his rivals off one by one with a waiting ride and a smooth performance with the way he travelled."
Alan Dudman picked out 15/1 winner Marching Army yesterday and he has a 20/1 Sportsbook double to consider for Monday at Cartmel...
Hughes the jewel in the Cartmel crown for Monday
Back Getaway Jewel @ 6.511/2 in the 14:50 at Cartmel
Marching Army defied a drift yesterday as the first winner for the column on Sunday - scoring at a BSP of 16.331533/100. A pity Beauty Choice ran all over the shop as the 7/4 favourite in the second leg - thus denying us a 54/1 double.
We're on the Flat for Monday and Cartmel's card is a good one, and I am sticking with in-form Getaway Jewel to go in again.
He was given a lot to do last time at Market Rasen, although jumping to his left didn't exactly help his cause.
The usual hold-up ride will no doubt by employed again by Brian Hughes today, and while he is creeping up to personal best waters, there are rivals in this field rated in the 80s and 70s, so it isn't the strongest and the selection travels better than those ratings.
Hughes rode him over fences at Rasen earlier in the summer when he picked his rivals off one by one with a waiting ride and a smooth performance with the way he travelled. Good ground has provided him with three wins, and this race could pan out better than Market Rasen.
Cavendish Cup success in store for Rapid
Back Rapid Flight @ 3.259/4 in the 15:24 at Cartmel
The feature of the day at Cartmel is the Cavendish Cup, and a novice on the up can take the 12k first prize in Rapid Flight.
He'll need a personal best today as in opposition is the Uttoxeter Summer Cup winner Jerrysback, and while he has found a new lease of life at the age of 10, I have been very impressed with the jumping technique of James Moffatt's chaser.
A rise in the weights of 24lbs is testament to his impressive run so far this summer. He might have only beaten one runner over fences last time at the track, but he won the Cumbria Grand Chase on his previous outing with a very impressive performance against Dee Star - who has scored again since.
Again he made the running and again his jumping was spot on. Ground is in his favour today too and the stats of his trainer Moffatt at Cartmel this term read 10-46 at 22%.
His rider Charlotte Jones is even better, and she's got a great relationship with this horse and she is 35% here this season.
