Cheltenham... Only Bettor Episode 10
The Cheltenham Only Bettor Podcast headed into week 10 with less than six weeks to go until the 2024 Cheltenham Festival. This week Tom Malone joined the team.
Having put up a speculative 40/1 antepost bet on last year's show to good effect, he tipped Teeshan for the 2024 Champion Bumper at 33/134.00.
Regular panel Natalie Green, Daryl Carter and Kevin Blake were on hand to discussed the action from Cheltenham Trials Day.
Kevin was not to be outshined this week as he also joined Tom by putting up a 33/134.00 antepost selection for the Festival, picking out Home By The Lee in the Stayers Hurdle as a lively each-way selection.
Cheltenham Trials Day review
Cheltenham Trials Day gave us some spectacular equine perfomances that threw out some big market movers for the 2024 Cheltenham Festival.
Three of the pod team picked Sir Gino as their performance of the week. The Nicky Henderson trained juvenile put up an incredible display to move him into 6/42.50 favouritism for the Triumph Hurdle in March.
Jonbon's shock defeat in the Grade One Clarence House Chase on Saturday sparked big discussion between the panel and he has drifted from 5/23.50 out to 4/15.00 in the Champion Chase market.
Another big talking point was Lossiemouth's visually stunning performance in the Grade Two International Hurdle and, although she is now the 4/51.80 favourite for the Mares Hurdle, there was discussion about whether she should take on Constitution Hill in the Champion Hurdle.
Cheltenham Festival ante-post selections week nine recap
Last week's show saw Timeform and Racing TV's Dan Barber put up Fugitif at 33/134.00 for the Ryanair Chase.
Daryl Carter sat out week nine, not putting up a selection, but Kevin Blake was on hand to tip Monty's Star at 12/113.00 for the Brown Advisory Novices' Chase.
Check out this week's episode to see who Daryl, Kevin and Tom added to their Cheltenham Festival 2024 ante-post selections.
