Blackmore to pick up another big win
Captain Guinness, Champion Chase, 15:30
It was a memorable day for Betfair ambassador Rachael Blackmore on the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival, as she lifted Honeysuckle home in the Mares' Hurdle.
She rides Captain Guinness in today's feature race, the Champion Chase, which is today's most backed horse across the Betfair Sportsbook. Having opened up at 34.033/1 when first declared, the eight-year-old is now 19.018/1 to spring a surprise.
Henry De Bromhead's horse is up against Energumene and Edwardstone, the two standout stars in this year's renewal, but Betfair punters believe with Rachael doing the steering, he holds every chance.
Nicholls' best chance proving popular
Hermes Allen, Ballymore Novices' Hurdle, 13:30
In the Ballymore, Paul Nicholls' Hermes Allen has been very popular, coming in from 5.59/2 to 3.55/2, and is now the clear second favourite.
This came after Paul Nicholls' exclusive thoughts with Betfair, informing readers that Hermes Allen was is one of his best chances of the week.
Paul says: "Hermes Allen is unbeaten over hurdles, looks fab, worked stylishly on Saturday morning, can handle any ground and the trip is not an issue as he will stay three miles in due course."
You can back Hermes Allen to win by two lengths or more at 4.57/2 on the Betfair Sportsbook.
Good Land continues to drift
Good Land, Ballymore Novices' Hurdle, 13:30
While one horse shortens in the market, another one drifts. Having opened up at 3.55/2, Good Land is now easy to back around 6.511/2 in the Ballymore.
Despite winning his last two races, the seven-year-old hasn't quite shown the form as others have towards the top of the betting, which has certainly been reflected in his morning price.
While there's no doubting he deserves to be in the line up, his early mishap on hurdling debut hasn't filled Betfair punters with much confidence in what looks to be a competitive field.
You can lay Good Land on the Exchange here. While 6.511/2 is a big price you can lay for a place at even money.
