Hermocrates looks a classic bet
17:45 Wolverhampton - Back Hermocrates @ BSP
With my knack of finding a second and Hermocrates finishing runner-up on his last five starts, this feels like I am almost playing with fire here, but I am happy to go with him for the staying event at 17:45.
Scholars of the classics will be aware of the namesake - unlike someone who I used to work with who once called him Hermo Crates.
From 69 he doesn't have anything in hand from his mark, but he tried 2m for the first time at Newcastle recently and saw out the trip well - and you need to stay at that track. He wasn't beaten too far in that behind Manjaam.
Hermocrates has done a fair bit of racing over 1m4f and 1m6f, so he'll be well suited if the race becomes tactical from his inside draw.
As a runner in 0-85 company previously, I am hoping these are calmer waters today and he can break his duck. We can back him at around the 4.03/1 mark.
Light up the night with a Godolphin newcomer
18:15 Wolverhampton - Back Colour Of Light @ BSP
I don't mind backing a Charlie Appleby newcomer - especially when it comes to debutants at Wolverhampton as the trainer does well here with a high strike-rate.
Colour Of Light is newcomer for the Godolphin and her pedigree is a bit of a standout.
With 1m2f and 1m4f winners in the page, this looks a good starting point at 1m for the filly, but her stats hopefully will point us to a winner. Her sire Shamardal does well with runners on the all-weather and has an 18% strike-rate on the Tapeta.
Hollie Doyle will get a chance to don the blue silks too from stall six.
