Blackjacktennessee is overpriced at Worcester
Harry The Norseman is a short-priced favourite for this handicap chase after being first past the post when taking the wrong course at Uttoxeter and he is now able to run off his true mark so is effectively off 5lb lower than he was that day.
The potential issue for him today is that he will have to jump far more fences than he did at Uttoxeter when all of the fences in the home straight were omitted and I think that suited him so he might not repeat that level of form today.
The Eminent Goose has ability but has also looked very tricky on various occasions while Sir Jack West is a strong traveller who jumps out to the right and has often found little under pressure including last time over this C&D.
At a bigger price, I think Blackjacktennessee could run better than the market suggests now that he's dropping back to a more suitable trip. He moved to the Rowleys for the latest point to point season and he looked set to give his inexperienced rider her first winner until unseating at the last on his final start in that sphere.
His attentions were switched back under rules for his latest start when he was a well-backed favourite at Ffos Las. He made the running from the off until being headed at four out and after jumping three out he had little left and faded to finish fourth.
Blackjacktennessee's performances throughout his career have suggested that he wants a trip shorter than three miles and I think this distance today will be more suitable for him. He's been dropped 2lb for that run at Ffos Las and he should be able to get into a good rhythm in a prominent position, possible tracking The Eminent Goose if that horse gets a better start today.
It may be that Blackjacktennessee is just a weak finisher over any trip and he's shown a tendency to jump a little out of the right at times but in a race of this quality I think he's overpriced and any 15/28.50 or bigger appeals.
