Rachael Blackmore Superboost
Day one of the 2024 Punchestown Festival offers a superb card, and today we are boosting Rachael Blackmore on board Cheltenham Festival winner Slade Steel!
You can back Rachael and Slade Steel to finish in the top 2 in the 15:40 at Punchestown at the Superboost price of 1/12.00! (was 8/131.61).
The first six home from the banks race at Lingstown last month reoppose today and it's a couple of the beaten horses who appeal at the prices.
Transprint has shortened in the market this morning but he was simply initially put in at a ridiculous price given the quality of his latest run in the context of this race. He got outpaced by the front pair as the pace quickened towards the end of the race but kept battling away under pressure and ran on well to finish second to De Nordener.
That was Transprint's first run for 413 days so I would be hopeful that he will improve for the run and I think the very slowly run nature of that race didn't suit him ideally.
It is concerning that he's refused at Ruby's Double on both attempts over today's C&D but he has gained more experience in banks races since then and hopefully that obstacles won't be an issue for him today. Any 12/113.00 or bigger appeals.
The fourth in the Lingstown banks race last month, Knockiel Synge, also appeals at a bigger price. He had run well in defeat over that C&D in November and he was close up behind De Nordener over the banks course at Knockanard before making a mistake and unseating rider at the last.
His latest run was in a normal point to point and cheekpieces went on that day. He seemed to react positively to them and showed greater tactical versatility than had previously been the case as he ended up closing from last to win rather than making the running.
I'm hoping that the cheekpieces continue to have a positive impact on Knockiel Synge and he ran well for a long way in a much stronger race over this course in February when finishing ahead of Three By Two. Any 14/115.00 or bigger appeals.
