Keep Wondering is overpriced at Kelso
Kelso - 15:00 - Back Keep Wondering
Keep Wondering drops into class five company for the first time today and I think he has a better chance of gaining a first victory since December 2021 than the market suggests.
He ran well on both starts at Carlisle earlier this year despite issues with his jumping, including tending to go out to the left, and the trip looked to stretch him on both occasions. When third behind Jet Legs, he was only around a length behind at the last before being beaten by 8¾ lengths and when beaten 18½ lengths by Uptown Harry, he was only five lengths behind the leader at the last.
Keep Wondering was pulled up on his latest start at Hexham but that race was run in extremely testing conditions so I think that can be forgiven.
There looks to be plenty of front runners/prominent racers in this field and that could set the race up well for him if they go back to riding him more patiently.
There is a concern that he's just a weak finisher, particularly given his sire, and it might be that he's just on a gradual decline but I think the slight drop back in trip could help him and any 16/117.00 or bigger appeals.
