Friday Football Tips: Back another Brum draw against Reading

John Eustace could be looking at another draw at home

Paul Higham is off to the Championship on Friday night where a draw is the best play for Birmingham's home game against Reading with neither side prolific to say the least.

We're back in the Championship on Friday night as Birmingham host Reading looking to try and make a move towards the play-off places.

The Royals can go fifth if they can make it three wins in a row, while Blues may be down in 14th but victory here would catapult them up above Reading and Millwall on goal difference and into seventh.

It's been slow going for John Eustance's side though, as while they've lost just two of 10, they've only won one in five and their return after the World Cup break was a snoozefest of a 0-0 at Blackpool.

City did manage to have the only shot on target of the game but scoring goals has been an issue - with all 13 teams above them bar Preston scoring more so far this season.

Burm's games also contain the joint-lowest goals in the Championship with an average of just 1.95 per contest and with Reading managing just one more goal themselves then this may not have goals written all over it.

It's weakness versus weakness as Reading have won just three on the road while St Andrews has witnessed just three home wins this campaign.

Reading have won back-to-back league games though with Paul Ince hoping to make it successive away wins after beating Hull in the last game before the break.

On a cold Friday night though with these two playing like they are, I really like the draw here at 21/10, but we'll take it even further and go Draw/Draw in the HT/FT result market at 16/5.

Birmingham have had five draws at home and with them struggling for goals they'd probably take another one against a side who look to be getting into form.

The draw is also the most popular half-time result for both sides this season, with 11 of Reading's games ending level after 45 minutes and nine of Birmingham's.

This might not be a Friday night special but a bit of a bore draw could still set up our weekend with a nice little profit.
