Celta looking up under Carvalhal
There's not much between these two in La Liga but they're heading in opposite directions at present with Celta Vigo on the up under Carlos Carvalhal while Mallorca are on a worrying slide.
It's five wins and just one defeat in 10 for Celta under former Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea boss Carvalhal, with their new-found toughness illustrated by two late, late goals in a 2-2 draw at Sevilla last week.
While Carvalhal has dragged Celta away from relegation trouble, Mallorca are sliding towards it after a winless six-game stretch for Javier Aguirre's side has just a few nerves starting to flutter.
Mallorca are only a couple of points below Celta, and both sides should stay out of trouble, but you can see why the hosts are 4/5 favourites for this one.
Hosts rightly favourites
Mallorca have bossed this fixture, winning six and losing just two of the last 12 meetings, but in form terms they're rightly underdogs - with the Pirates gifting teams plenty of chances in a barren seven-game winless run on the road.
In five of those seven games Mallorca have drawn a blank, while they've conceded 2+ goals five times as well.
Celta have been pretty strong of late at home at the Balaidos as well, with just one defeat in seven and with all three of their wins coming with a clean sheet.
Mallorca sould offer a threat, but we're sticking to the home team for the player props portion of our Bet Builder by sticking with Celta legend Iago Aspas.
The former Liverpool striker has scored four times in five games against Mallorca and the visitors will offer him up plenty of chances to score again.
And Celta youngster Gabri Veiga is also worth keeping an eye on, as he's been attracting Premier League attention with his performances this season as the 20-year-old has forced his way into the team.
Veiga hit the target twice in the reverse fixture and has managed that in five of his past 12 games - he's certainly not scared to pull the trigger and he can pull that off again to finish off a nice Monday night treble.
