Italian Serie A
Extra pride on the line in Milan in 2022-23, whilst, Pog, is back (again)
Before Juventus’ nine-year dominance at the top of Italian football between 2011-12 and 2019-20, Serie A was won by Inter Milan in 2009-10 followed by rivals AC Milan in 2010-11. That pattern of dominance is unlikely to repeat itself again, though the similarities are there after reigning champions Milan wrestled the trophy back from Internazionale last season.
However, with free transfer signings of Paul Pogba and Angel Di Maria, the Old Lady are just behind favourites Inter in the Betfair markets to lift the title in 2022-23. Interestingly, both Milan clubs now sit on 19 top-flight titles each, only behind the 34 of Juventus, with bragging rights on the line this season.
Serial winner José Mourinho and his Roma side will look to disrupt the sides at the top and aim to win the Italian top-flight title for the first time since 2000-01, whilst Napoli, Lazio and, without any European football this season, Atalanta, make up a competitive campaign.
We also have Cremonese back in Serie A for the first time in 26 years, and Monza join the elite for the first time in their entire 110-year history.
