Football Bet of the Day: Recife are a recipe for goals

In Brazil last night, Corinthians and Atletico PR served up a 2-2 draw that landed our odds-against BTTS bet.

Today, we're sticking in Brazil, but stepping down a level. One of tonight's Serie B matches sees third-placed Sport Recife entertain 19th-placed Sao Bento. There's a gulf in places between the teams, but Guto Ferreira's hosts are certainly not watertight and Marquinhos Santos's visitors are more potent than you might expect for a team that's second bottom of its league. As a result, we like the odds-against price on both teams to score tonight.

The Lions have scored in 10/13 at Ilha do Retiro this term and will be confident of finding ways through a visiting defence that has conceded in all of its first 13 away games of the season. At the other end of the pitch, Sport have recently conceded themselves in 6/7 home matches.

Sao Bento have lost 9/13 away games this season, but they have at least scored in 9/13 of those matches, including seven of the most recent nine. Bearing in mind they've conceded in all 13, that means BTTS has been the right bet on 7/9 of their recent road trips and we're jumping all over the odds-against price available for this one.
