The Netherlands are headed east and Tobias Gourlay's expecting defences to toil
Romania v Netherlands
Tuesday 19:00
It was more flicker than fireworks in Nijmegen last night, as Iran edged past Venezuela 1-0. Perhaps the locals can show those two how it's done tonight.
The Dutch national side won't be in Russia next summer, so now's their time to shine. The Oranje have improved a little recently, winning 7/8 since March. In friendlies alone, they are W8-D2-L5 since 2014, but the really exciting thing is that they've scored at least once in all 15 of those matches, and at least twice in 10/15.
We fancy they can locate the back of the net at the National Arena in Bucharest this evening, but so too should their hosts. Romania have scored 13 times in their last four home friendlies (against largely competent opposition too: Ukraine, Georgia, Chile and Turkey).
The Dutch start as favourites, but they've notched just two clean sheets in their last 13 away games across all competitions, and so our bet of the day is on goals at both ends.
