Football Bet of the Day: Fiesta time in Vallecas

Down Under this morning, Sydney FC launched us into the weekend with a 2-0 victory over Adelaide United that landed our win bet.

Tonight we're in Spain for the opening match of La Liga round 24. Second-bottom Rayo Vallecano have served up Over 2.5 Goals in 10/13 matches at Campo de Futbol de Vallecas and we're excited to see that's an even-money bet for the visit of 15th-placed Girona.

Last time out at the Campo de Futbol, Rayo lost 0-1 to second-placed Atletico Madrid. It was their first shut-out on home soil this season and it came against La Liga's meanest defence. Hosting teams currently 12th and below in the table, their results read 1-2, 2-1, 2-2, 4-2, 2-2. That's 5/5 against teams more like Girona in which both sides have scored and there have been Over 2.5 Goals in total.

Girona have produced Over 2.5 Goals in each of their last four away games. They've conceded at least twice in 4/5 - much as you'd expect for a bottom-six side. At the other end, however, they have scored twice in 3/4 and that gives us hope they can contribute to another high-scoring game in Vallecas tonight.
