The defences melted away fast in Malta yesterday. The hosts took a 10th-minute lead, before the visitors equalised in the 26th minute. Nothing else happened, but our bet was already paid.

The Nations League continues this evening and we're in eastern Europe for Moldova's League D Group 2 clash with Belarus. In their opening games on Saturday, the hosts lost 0-4 in Luxembourg, while Belarus walloped San Marino 5-0 at home. We've found reason to believe Belarus can maintain their perfect start this evening.

Belarus won friendlies in Azerbaijan and Slovenia in March, and that's enough to give them an edge in the form guide. They did lose 5/5 away games in World Cup 2018 qualifying, but went a creditable W2-D1-L2 on the road in Euro 2016 qualifying.

Those records are not bulletproof, of course, but wait until you hear what Moldova have been up to recently. Alexandru Spiridon's men haven't won a competitive home game for almost five years. Since beating San Marino in October 2013, they are W0-D1-L9 on their own patch. At an odds-against price, we're backing newly confident Belarus to take all three points away from Chisinau tonight.
