Football Bet of the Day: Wombles to wobble in Haringey

From Poland to Brazil to Venezuela to Poland again. We've had a globetrotting week - and that last bet's still a live one at the time of writing - but today we've got a rare day at home.

We're in north London for Haringey Borough's FA Cup clash with south London's AFC Wimbledon. The Borough are the only team from August's Preliminary Round to have made it through all four Qualifying Rounds and into the First Round Proper. Only just promoted to the Isthmian League Premier this season, the hosts are firm outsiders to land a cup upset against their visitors from League One.

Tom Loizou's men are 18th in the 22-team Isthmian Premier. They've got games in hand because of this cup run, but have recently taken just one point from 12. Across all competitions, however, both teams have scored in each of their last eight matches and that's the stat that's exciting us ahead of tonight's game.

Neil Ardley's AFC Wimbledon recently thrashed League Two Stevenage 4-0 in an FA Trophy game, but the Wombles are second bottom of League One. They've lost 12 of their last 14 in the league, including all of the most recent seven. In each of the last five, they've conceded at least twice and, at an odds-against price, we're punting on Haringey - who scored at least twice in all four FA Cup qualifying rounds - to bloody their visitors' noses this evening.
