International friendlies start up in earnest today and Tobias Gourlay's got his eye on a big one in Paris
France v Colombia
Friday 20:00
Newcastle really did bring the goals to Adelaide this morning. They travelled with no fewer than seven, in fact. That's no consolation for them, for a 5-2 defeat, but it does give us a second winner in a row.
We're taking our good form (slender though it is) to the Stade de France this evening. That's where France will entertain Colombia in one of today's international friendlies. The home side start as big odds-on favourites, but it's the two teams' strong scoring records really catching our eye.
Les Bleus have scored 12 times in four friendlies since last summer, scoring at least twice on each occasion - and against fairly strong opposition too (Paraguay, England, Wales, Germany). We have few doubts that Didier Deschamps' men will find the scoresheet again this evening.
In November, Colombia scored five times across a couple of friendlies with South Korea and China. Including competitive games, they've found the back of the net in 9/10. Last June, they earned a 2-2 draw in Spain and we like the odds-against price on both teams scoring again this evening.
