"Diego Simeone's men have conceded only six times in 18 Liga games at the Wanda Metropolitano"
Atletico Madrid won't let Eibar celebrate the end of a long La Liga season, says Tobias Gourlay
Atletico Madrid v Eibar
Sunday 17:30 (Live on Sky Sports Red Button)
Dijon and Angers left us one short in France yesterday, as the hosts won their final Ligue 1 match of the season 2-1.
Today we're backing another set of hosts to win their very last game of 2017/18. Over in Spain, Europa League champions Atletico Madrid are secure in second place. Diego Simeone's men have conceded just 20 times across 37 matches so far - and only six times in 18 previous appearances at the Wanda Metropolitano. That includes a 2-0 defeat for the under-strength side Simeone put out just before the Europa League final. Prior to that game, the Mattress Makers had strung together eight clean sheets and we fancy the first XI to lock down Eibar this afternoon.
Since Eibar returned to La Liga, they've lost all seven head-to-heads with Atletico, failing to score in any of the most recent three. This season, Jose Luis Mendilibar's men have gone W0-D2-L5 visiting teams now above them in the league. They've scored just once across those seven matches and, despite a possible end-of-season jamboree atmosphere, we don't rate their chances of scoring in the Spanish capital today.
