Bilbao, on the other hand, have struggled for consistency, winning only two of their last six games. This could turn into a scrappy, tense affair with little goalmouth action, so the draw appears to be the best choice.

A record of five defeats in their last six games does not indicate that they are on the verge of a comeback, but they can take heart from their recent 1-0 win over Rayo Vallecano, which kept their survival hopes alive.

They may also be able to take advantage of the fact that their opponents are only three days removed from a draining Champions League semi-final first leg. Unai Emery's team has a lot to play for in Liga, but it's been a long season, and expecting his players to be at their best in critical games three days apart may be too much to ask.
