Zaha gives Palace the edge
If there is one man who is synonymous with Crystal Palace over the last decade it is Wilfried Zaha. The Ivorian international came through the Palace youth setup and built his reputation to such a point that he became Sir Alex Ferguson's final signing for Manchester United. Unfortunately, for Zaha, that move didn't have the positive impact he might have hoped and he returned to South London after only a handful of appearances for United.
Since then he has been the talisman for multiple managers and has built himself into a legend at the club particularly as his absence often seems to coincide with poor performances. This, again, has been true this season.
The 29-year-old has featured in four of Palace's five league wins this season, scoring the opening goal in three of them, and providing a near constant threat. The Zaha-less win was against a hapless, injury ravaged Norwich side in late December after the Ivorian headed off to the African Cup of Nations.
During their month without their leader, Palace arguably performed as would be expected; losses to Liverpool and West Ham, a draw with Brighton and a pair of cup wins over lower league opposition along with the Norwich victory.
And despite his - quite literal - hit and miss performance in midweek against the Canaries, Palace fans will be happy to see their main man back in again as they strive for a bit more consistency; Crystal Palace to win @ 3.052/1 is well worth a look.
Toney hoping to atone for winter break controversy
The Premier League winter break was an opportunity for players to rest up before the second half of a grueling season, unfortunately for Ivan Toney his holiday landed him at the centre of a social media storm after comments he made about Brentford went viral.
The issues have, seemingly, been sorted internally with Toney maintaining his place in the squad, scoring against Everton last weekend, in the FA Cup before missing the midweek trip to Manchester Cith with a minor calf problem. The English forward is enjoying his first season in the Premier League, scoring six goals and partnering well with Bryan Mbuemo.
Priced at 6/4 to score anytime and 4/1 to open the scoring Toney is rightly seen as Brentford's biggest goal threat, and in his first game back in front of a home crowd since the winter break he will be keen to make amends to the fans.
Palace concede roughly 1.5 goals per game this season (35 conceded in 23 games) and Toney will fancy his chances of adding to his Premier League total on Saturday afternoon.
Midfield pair making their mark for Vieira
Patrick Vieira made his name in the Premier League as one of the best midfielders of his generation. Now, making his return as a manager, he is relying on a pair of youngsters in the same position to drive his team forward.
Chelsea loanee Connor Gallagher is turning heads with his performances this season. With more goals than the likes of Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang it is unsurprising that he earned his first England cap.
By contrast Gallagher's midfield counterpart Michael Olise has gone under the radar for much of the season but is enjoying a fine spell of form. The catalyst behind both of Palace's FA Cup wins the young Frenchman has carved out a role as an excellent creator.
Benefitting from a run of games on the wing with Zaha's absent, Olise will likely move into the centre now that the senior man has returned to the starting lineup and will be asked to keep the tempo up as Vieira continues to build on his burgeoning managerial reputation.
Olise to continue his good form and set up a goal at anytime is 9/2 while Gallagher finding the net for the eighth time this season in the league is also worth a look at 11/4.
