Both north London clubs missed their chance to close the gap on Leicester in the week, but Tottenham can regain the initiative in the title race on Saturday.

Arsenal have only won one of the last five at White Hart Lane and go into this game at a low ebb, having suffered morale-sapping defeats against Swansea and Manchester United, conceding five goals in the process. The absence of Petr Cech and Laurent Koscielny for this game could make them even more vulnerable at the back.

Spurs suffered a surprise defeat to West Ham in the week, but as Jaymes Monte points out in his must-read match preview, the Hammers are a very good team. A home derby against a wobbly Arsenal side is the perfect opportunity for Tottenham to get their title challenge back on track and they look a good bet for three points.

Bet 2: Back Wasps to beat Gloucester at 1.75/7
After a slow start to their Aviva Premiership campaign, Gloucester have improved of late, losing only one of their last nine, but I think they'll find Saturday's opponents too tough and I'm backing the visitors to prevail.

Wasps are the form team in English rugby, having won their last six matches, a run that includes victories over Harlequins, Bath and a 64-23 thrashing of leaders Saracens. They've won their last six encounters with Gloucester and I think they will once again prove too strong for the Cherry and Whites.

Bet 3: Back Atlanta Hawks to beat LA Lakers at 1.182/11

After a string of defeats, Atlanta steadied the ship with wins over Chicago and Charlotte and solid effort in overtime against Golden State, and they can continue their upturn with victory in Los Angeles.

The Lakers are in terrible shape at the moment and have slumped to nine defeats in their last ten outings; the second worst record in the NBA. They are currently propping up the Western Conference and I can't see them offering much resistance to the Hawks who are chasing Miami hard in the South-East division.
