League One

Leg 1: Leyton Orient v Bristol Rovers, Saturday 15:00: Back Leyton Orient

Leyton Orient keep going, and while not quite Stevenage proportions of surprises, they have completely outperformed expectations this term, and the O's are often here in this column, and I think they are a fair price at 4/51.80 for Saturday.

They've won three of their last four and have been good at home of late, and while Bristol Rovers are no gimme, my gut feeling is the Gas are better at home as they've lost nine on the road this term.

Rovers have lost three of their last four away Football League games against Leyton Orient, but did win 2-0 the last time they travelled to Brisbane Road in February 2022. But Orient under Richie Wellens are now consistent.

KEY OPTA STAT: Leyton Orient have won five of their last seven home League One games (D1 L1), a streak in which they have kept four clean sheets.

Leg 2: Wycombe v Barnsley, Saturday 15:00: Back Barnsley

At the start of the season, Barnsley wouldn't have been 9/52.80 for a game at Wycombe, and I am surprised they are 9/52.80 here considering Wycombe are very much a mid-table team without any sort of consistency.

I initially looked at the BTTS bet as Barnsley have hit that target in their last six games, but the 6/101.60 is short enough, but the Tykes have won three of their last four and have won five of their last six Football League matches against Wycombe Wanderers (L1), winning the last two by a 1-0 scoreline.

KEY OPTA STAT: Barnsley have lost just one of their last 19 away league games (W10 D8), scoring 37 times across that streak. This season in League One, no side has recorded fewer away defeats than the Tykes (1).

Back Barnsley @ 9/52.80

Leg 3: Portsmouth v Oxford United, Saturday 15:00: Back Portsmouth

Portsmouth are unbeaten across their last eight league games (W6 D2), winning all three of their home matches during that run whilst scoring 3+ goals in each in the process, and their Christmas wobbles are firmly behind them it seems.

They are 4/61.67 for the win on Saturday and they have 11 wins at home this term - the joint-best home record in the division.

Oxford United have won just one of their last nine league games (D5 L3), despite only being outscored by their opponents by two goals overall during that run (12-14).

KEY OPTA STAT: Five of the last eight, and each of the last three, Football League meetings between Oxford United and Portsmouth have ended in a score draw, while the U's are winless in four against Pompey since a 3-2 home win in February 2022 under Karl Robinson.

League Two

Leg 1: AFC Wimbledon v MK Dons, Saturday 15:00: Back MK Dons

The MK Dons were convincing winners of this game in January - running out 3-1 winners in MK, and in truth, it could have been a lot more.

Daniel Kemp has scored three goals across his five EFL meetings for MK versus AFC Wimbledon, only against Grimsby Town has he scored more during his career (4) and he's a generous 3/14.00 for Anytime Scorer on Saturday and netted again on Saturday with an early goal.

AFC Wimbledon have won just one of their ten league games against MK Dons (D3 L6), a 2-0 home victory in March 2017 and I'll go with the visitors who look very much a promotion contender under Mike Williamson.

KEY OPTA STAT: MK Dons will be looking to record a first league double against AFC Wimbledon, after winning the reverse fixture 3-1 in January earlier this year.

Back MK Dons @ 9/52.80

Leg 2: Crewe v Morecambe, Saturday 15:00: Back Crewe

Crewe Alexandra have lost just one of their last 10 Football League games against Morecambe (W6 D3), scoring 21 goals in the process, and that should continue on Saturday at odds of 8/111.73.

The Alex, so often high-scorers, are only two points off the top and have a chance of enhancing their automatic claims. They also have a terrific record at home with 10 wins and 31 scored.

Crewe have lost just three of their last 24 home league games (W16 D5), scoring 2+ goals in 17 of those matches and that's a strong stat to go with.

KEY OPTA STAT: Morecambe lost their last away league game 3-0 against Walsall and will be looking to avoid recording consecutive defeats on the road without scoring since their opening two away matches of the season.

Back Crewe @ 17/201.85

Leg 3: Wrexham v Accrington Stanley, Saturday 15:00: Back Wrexham

Accrington Stanley have won just one of their last five away Football League games against sides from Wales (D1 L3), though have previously won both of their away matches against Wrexham 3-1, so there's potential as ever for goals.

But Wrexham's massive 44 goals at the Racecourse always keeps them on side, and Accrington are a bit limited even if they are organised.

The hosts have won nine of their last ten home Football League games (L1), scoring 24 goals across that period and that's a strong stat for a 1/21.50 shot, even though their most recent road trip was a disappointing 1-1 at Forest Green.

KEY OPTA STAT: Accrington Stanley have failed to win any of their last four league games played on a Saturday (D2 L2), the Lancashire side haven't suffered a longer such winless streak at this level since a run of five matches between November and December 2017.

Back Wrexham @ 1/21.50
