League One
Leg 1: Back Under 2.5 Goals Lincoln v Cheltenham Town
Cheltenham Town still haven't scored a goal, and the most unwanted record of all time was netted last weekend with another blank.
Their xG at home of 0.83 is woeful and it doesn't look encouraging for Saturday's trip to Lincoln who have scored seven, but crucially have conceded just one goal at home.
Lincoln are 4/71.57 in the match odds and should cover the handicap here. They are unbeaten in each of their last seven league meetings with Cheltenham (W4 D3), keeping a clean sheet in each of the last three such encounters. That bodes well for a dart at under 2.5 Goals at 20/231.87.
Only Peterborough (10) have dropped more points from winning positions than Lincoln (7) in League One this season, scoring first before losing 2-1 to Portsmouth last time out, so it might be worth bearing in mind the 90 minutes odds.
Mark Kennedy's team had a tough game against West Ham in midweek and while they have won 3-0 twice at home this term, it could be tighter as I cannot see Cheltenham going with any ambition whatsoever.
KEY OPTA STAT: Cheltenham have lost on three of their last four trips to Lincoln in the Football League (D1), after losing just once in their first eight visits (W4 D3).
Leg 2: Back BTTS Peterborough v Bristol Rovers
Joey Barton's Bristol Rovers are providing the entertainment this term, and while their defending has never been miserly, you always have a chance on the goals markets with them, as they are quite open.
They hammered Wigan 4-1 at the Mem last weekend. Aaron Collins, who was key last term, has discovered his scoring form with his second in two league matches.
Barton was very impressed with the work off the ball last Saturday and said it was the first time his side had really clicked as a team.
Posh are 2-4 in terms of the BTTS bet at home so far, and with a Rovers xA on the road of 1.53 and Posh at 1.72xG for home games, it should be a match to yield a return on the goals front.
The hosts have only lost one of their last 15 Football League matches against Bristol Rovers (W8 D6), although they are winless in their last three against them (D2 L1).
KEY OPTA STAT: Since losing his first managerial Football League encounter against Peterborough in October 2018, Bristol Rovers' Joey Barton has lost only one of his last six league games against them (W3 D2), going unbeaten both home (1-0) and away (0-0) to them in 2022-23.
Leg 3: Back the draw Fleetwood v Leyton Orient
After a wobbly and sluggish start, Orient are churning out some points and have become harder to beat with just one defeat in their last six.
Two of those have been draws at Peterborough and Blackpool - both low scoring affairs - and with Fleetwood in a funk at the moment, without a win and three straight losses at home, Orient can get a result here.
Fleetwood and Leyton Orient's only previous season together in the Football League came in League One in 2014-15, with the Cod Army avoiding defeat in both games (1-1 at home, 1-0 win away) so the stats point to a close one, and potentially unders.
KEY OPTA STAT: After losing each of their first three league games of the season, Leyton Orient have lost only lost one of their last six such games (W3 D2), keeping a clean sheet on three occasions, including last time out against Shrewsbury (1-0).
League Two
Leg 1: Back the draw Gillingham v Mansfield
Nigel Clough's Mansfield scraped a late goal on 72 minutes last weekend to secure a 1-0 home success against Barrow, and the one result I was waiting for in the League Two treble as goals had come in the two other games. It puts Mansfield in pole position and they remain unbeaten.
Gillingham haven't drawn in their last 11 league matches (W7 L4), while at home they have only drawn one of their last 19 (W12 L6). So we are going against the stats somewhat, but Neil Harris' side are not known as heavy scorers. They have scored just four and conceded four at the Priestfield so far.
Of course we have the 90 minutes option if it's a close one - you get paid out if it's a draw on 90 - but the Stags have a whopping five stalemates already this term. That may halt a tilt at the title but, at home, Gillingham are tough to break down usually and, even with their two wins in Kent, both have been by a one goal margin.
KEY OPTA STAT: Mansfield Town are unbeaten in League Two this season (P9 W4 D5), the last time they went unbeaten in their first 10 matches of a league season was in the fourth tier in 1962.
Leg 2: Back MK Dons to beat Harrogate
The MK Dons look a very solid odds-on shot at home this Saturday at 4/51.80 to win. They are the only League Two side to score in every league game this season (16 goals).
After winning four of their first five league matches this campaign (L1), however, the Dons are winless in their last four (D2 L2), so that's a slight worry. But Graham Alexander's side have only conceded four at home and three of those have come recently against Notts County and Stockport - two teams that should be (and are in County's case) pushing for promotion.
At times at home, the Dons have surrendered possession and they had hardly any of the ball against the Magpies, likewise in their 2-1 home success against Doncaster.
Counter-attack might be the way to go and Harrogate have only won two of their last 11 matches when facing a new opponent in League Two for the very first time (D2 L7), with wins at Gillingham (August 2022) and Doncaster (March 2023).
KEY OPTA STAT: With their 3-2 win over Salford last time out, Harrogate could win successive league games for only the second time this calendar year, previously doing so in April (2 wins).
Leg 3: Back Notts County to beat Colchester
Notts County have been a good source of profit this term and, with 20 points at the top of the table, there's no reason to not include them again at a fair price of Evens for Saturday's trip to Colchester.
The Magpies have hit 12 goals at home and seven on the road and Colchester under Ben Garner give you a chance with the way they play. They have conceded more than they have scored at home so far.
County have scored at least once in each of their last 11 Football League visits to Colchester (20 goals overall) since a 2-0 defeat in December 2000. No player has provided more assists in League Two this season than Notts County's Jodi Jones (4), two of which came last time out in their 4-3 win over Forest Green Rovers.
Jones' assists for an exciting front-line packed with goals could give us another win with the black and white army.
KEY OPTA STAT: Colchester United have won just one of their last 13 Football League meetings with Notts County (D2 L10), winning 2-1 in December 2016.
