The Daily Acca: Eagles to soar in this 14/1 shot

Crystal Palace manager - Roy Hodgson
Can Roy Hodgson save his job?

Saturday's Daily Acca is a 14/115.00 treble, with Paul Robinson featuring three of the Premier League fixtures.

  • A tonic for Roy

  • Wolves to remain strong at Molineux

  • Another bad day for United

Leg 1 Crystal Palace (90mins) @ 11/102.11 (15:00)

Roy Hodgson is currently the favourite in the next manager to leave position market but I think that's a bit harsh, as his team have been close to some half decent results lately.

They are currently on a run of eight without a win, but two of their last three were draws, and their last two defeats were by a single goal margin. It's also worth noting that their last four outings were against Liverpool, Man City, Brighton and Chelsea.

Brentford are in even worse form than Palace, as Thomas Frank's men have lost four on the bounce - the latest being a 1-4 home loss to Wolves.

After winning their opening away fixture of the season, the Bees have been beaten in five of their seven since, with the latest being a 1-0 defeat at bottom of the table, Sheffield United.

Leg 2 Wolves (90mins) @ 6/42.50 (15:00)

Wolves are flying under Gary O'Neil at present, with their form at Molineux being especially strong.

The hosts are unbeaten in seven in front of their own fans, with four of those being wins. Three of those victories came from their last three here, and that includes wins over Spurs and Chelsea.

Everton's strong run of results has taken a dip in the last fortnight, as they exited the Carabao Cup to Fulham, and then lost to Spurs and Man City.

Of course, the latter two defeats can be forgiven, but momentum is a big thing in football, and it's Wolves who have it at present.

Leg 3 Notts Forest (90mins) @ 15/82.88 (17:30)

Nuno Espírito Santo sealed his first as Nottingham Forest manager at St James' Park on Boxing Day, as Chris Wood scored a hat-trick to secure a 1-3 victory.

Forest's survival last season was based largely on their results at the City Ground, so now that they are under new leadership, I expect them to return to that kind of form in front of their own fans.

Manchester United were impressive in their 3-2 win over Aston Villa on Boxing Day, but they went 0-2 down in that game, and there have already been numerous false dawns under Erik ten Hag.

Prior to that they had gone four without a win in all competitions - failing to even score a goal.
